What has happened to Google's Q&A feature? Why is it missing from the Search dashboard?

What is the Google Q&A feature?

Question and Answer is a feature on Google Business Profiles which enables the public to ask a business owner questions. The business owner or members of the public can reply to the questions asked.

For example, someone might wish to know if they can take their dog to a specific cafe, so they’d submit a question asking, ‘Can I take my dog to [submit business name]?’

Why is the Q&A feature missing?

According to sources online, Google’s Q&A feature will be disappearing from Google Business Profiles. This is because Google is focusing on optimising AI-driven questions and answers.

At the moment, the Q&A feature on Google Business Profiles is intermittently appearing in the dashboard.

Can I still add question and answers?

Yes, if you can’t see the Q&A feature in your dashboard in Search, then you can still add questions and answers on your listing in Google Maps (on desktop or mobile).

I would recommend that you continue to add questions and answers to your profile, as AI will still be crawling them to pick up information about your business for AI Search. While the feature is still available (albeit hidden), you should be optimising it.
